15th September – blossom time!

September 15, 2019 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Sundays at Cruden Farm offer a relaxed and friendly experience. The property was left by Dame Elisabeth Murdoch for people to enjoy and consists of wondrous manicured gardens and peaceful walking areas, set amongst interesting bushland and lakes. The sights and scents at Cruden Farm constantly alter throughout the seasons and there are many plants and trees to be discovered.

September sees the start of real Spring in the garden, with the flowering cherries and crabapples indeed abundant; alongside the late blooming daffodil bulbs. The elms show their delightful green blossoms in literal pom-poms of colour. Come and listen to the constant buzz of the bees as they dash from one flower to the next; it’s a busy time of the year for everyone in Cruden Farm’s gardens.

Once a month throughout the year, Cruden Farm is open on a Sunday,  for you to take a tour or just come for the day and enjoy a leisurely stroll around the gardens and farm. You are welcome to bring a snack or lunch or you can purchase light refreshments from our pop up kitchen window. We don’t serve fancy meals but we do have freshly baked homemade goodies.

If you are a keen gardener, you will really enjoy doing a tour to learn more about this extraordinary place. At 10am on Sundays at Cruden Farm, a member of the gardening team leads people around the gardens explaining Dame Elisabeth’s vision in developing it over 80 years. Tours last for more than an hour.

The Sunday tour commences at 10am sharp and must be pre-booked.
